June Loots – 2014

Due to me traveling to Japan for my 2nd time studying abroad, this month’s loot is divided into two sets. The first set consists of packages that arrived at my apartment in the States, and the second set consists of stuff that I bought in Japan.

Beginning with the packages that arrived, some sneak peek photos of what’s inside. I was really surprised (and quite happy) that the 2nd package actually arrived before I left for Japan. I also finally got AmiAmi’s postcard undamaged, unlike last month.

Here are my loots that arrived during the first 3 weeks of June:

  • S.H.Figuarts 仮面ライダー鎧武 [オレンジアームズ] Kamen Rider Gaim [Orange Arms]
  • ねんどろいど四糸乃 Nendoroid Yoshino

And here are the loots that I personally bought in Japan within a week:

  • S.H.Figuarts 仮面ライダー鎧武 [オレンジアームズ] Kamen Rider Gaim [Orange Arms]
  • S.H.Figuarts 仮面ライダー斬月 [メロンアームズ] Kamen Rider Zangetsu [Melon Arms]
  • ロボット魂 エクストリームガンダム [Type-レオス ゼノン・フェース] Robot Damashii Extreme Gundam [Type-Leos Xenon Face]
  • BaldrSky Dive 2 “Recordare” [
  • BaldrSky Dive X “Dream World” [初回限定版]
Chicihiro Toiki
Shoujo no Toge

First, let’s look at this new PSV game of ToLove-Ru Darkness. From the screenshots, I thought that the 3D art style and the gameplay was only so-so, but I like ToLove-Ru enough to perhaps enjoy the character interactions.

Here are all of the goodies that are inside the box. You have the game, a Momo cord wrapper, a bed sheet of Yami, the limited edition product code card, and the first edition product code slip.

Inside the game case was a simple slip for a manual and the game card itself. The bed sheet of Yami, I haven’t opened just yet, but I know how it looks like from the back of the box.

The first edition product code slip for a sexy apron, in addition to the limited edition product code card for a maid costume. I like how they gave me a nice card rather than just another slip. I also like the Momo cord wrapper quite a lot. It is soft and comfortable to squeeze with my fingers. I won’t put it to actual use since I don’t want to damage it.

I’m enjoying Kamen Rider Gaim so much that I absolutely wanted the S.H.Figuarts. All the previous SHF so far has been kind of mediocre in my opinion, which is why this is my second SHF, after Kamen Rider Gills. I had my doubts about SHF Gaim as well, however, as soon as the photos and reviews of the actual product came out, I was astonished at the level of quality for the Gaim series. I wanted to see it with my own eyes as soon as possible, which was why I was really happy that the second package containing this SHF arrived before I had left.

The first edition bonus was this Black Stage with the symbols of the 4 main Riders.

It looks even more glorious than I had imagined from the official photos. The symbols show up differently under the tracing paper which I find interesting.

A quick photo of the SHF itself. My photography doesn’t show off how well made this SHF is.

When I got to Japan, I actually bought an extra for my little brother. We are both really enjoying the series and now we each have our own SHF of Gaim.

SHF Kamen Rider Zangetsu, which I bought in Japan along with the extra Gaim. I didn’t plan to buy this initially (especially since it sold out on AmiAmi within 3 minutes), but I spot it in Mandarake for a non-marked up price, and so I bought it.

I actually didn’t expect it to look this good and I’m really satisfied having bought Zangetsu. It really is annoying that SHF Zangetsu Shin is a Tamashii Web exclusive though. I don’t plan on getting every Rider from Gaim, but I would like all the ones that I consider to be major characters.

Other figures that I bought were Nendoroid Yoshino from AmiAmi, and Robot Damashii Extreme Gundam [Type-Leos] from Mandarake in Japan. I want the Option Set for Extreme Gundam, but that costs ¥10,000 on Amazon JP, so I will restrain myself for now.

The stuff in the section below are some R18 eroge and eromanga that I bought.

Prior to leaving for Japan, I was playing a lot of BaldrSky Dive 1. While I haven’t finish even the first route yet, I knew that I will absolutely play Dive 2. When I was at Nagoya’s Mandarake shopping around, I spotted Dive 2 and Dive X, in addition to BaldrSky Zero, for sale. Baldr Sky Zero looks to be a prequel with different characters, so I passed on that one.

Since I liked the games, I would like to own them of course, but what really persuaded me to buy these were the design and concept books that they came with. I haven’t open either one of them yet, for the sake of spoilers since I haven’t finished the first game.

For the first time (despite this being my 2nd time in Japan), I bought some eromanga for myself. Not sure why I didn’t buy any before or why I bought some now, I just felt like it. I was at Tora no Ana with some friends and there were a number of sample books available to read. After reading through some of them, I settled on getting a book from these two authors, Goban and Hisasi. I have seen Hisasi’s work before but not Goban. I actually bought Shoujo no Toge at the Melonbooks next door because it was sold out at Tora no Ana.

So that was everything that I had bought for the month of June. Within a week in Japan, I have actually spent quite a bit, even though I had actually restraint myself quite a bit. The next coming months during my stay in Japan are just gonna be filled with loots!
