十月の購入物 October Loots – 2015

My recent monthly loots had been minimal, as I really didn’t want to spend very much. However, this month came the release of something big that I do not want to miss. The timing was definitely not preferable, but I have been anticipating this game for years, so I had funds saved up and ready to go. Friends who know me would know that I am a big fan of Halo. That’s right, Halo 5: Guardians is here!

My big loot for this month is:

  • Halo 5: Guardians
  • Xbox One Console [Halo 5 Limited Edition]
  • + other Limited Edition goodies

Had I only had to buy the game itself, this month wouldn’t have been expensive. But the world had already moved on to a new generation of gaming consoles. I had anticipated that a Halo 5 edition of the Xbox One would be made, so I waited until now and purchased the console bundle. Quite expensive, but alas.

Open the box, and immediately you are greeted with the Spartan Locke customized Halo 5 Xbox One controller and the UNSC metal case.

First, let’s take a look at the special controller. This controller is designed after Spartan Locke’s Hunter class armor. It has a really nice coat of silver as the main color, accented by lines of chrome blue. Below are some detail shots.

What’s particularly impressive is that this controller not only has a nice paint job, but also has lines and details engraved onto the surface.

Next, let’s take a look at the UNSC metal case. Everything was well packaged, and individual sections can be lifted out. All the cables were actually hidden inside of the box tray for the metal case. I particularly like the tray holding the controller.

Inside the UNSC metal case were a number of collectible goodies. The card on the left is a folded print of Spartan Locke’s classified orders, in English on one side and another language on the other side. The packet in the middle contains aluminium sheets of parts to make a model of the Guardian. A company called Metal Earth made the model, and they make similar aluminium models for other things like airplanes, Japanese castles and much more. The green package contains Blue Team’s and Fireteam Osiris’s dossier, which I have yet to open as it was sealed tight. Hopefully I won’t have to tear it open.

Finally, let’s move onto the seeing the console itself.

Here it is, the Halo 5 limited edition Xbox One console, designed after Spartan Locke along with the matching controller. This thing is gorgeous! This system truly deserves to be called special.

Even on the side of the console is decorated, and you can see each member of Blue Team’s tags and each member of Fireteam Osiris’s emblems.

Some detail shots. The chrome blue is very reflective and almost seems to glow. Even the heat vent side of the console has a neat paint job.

In conclusion, I really like this Halo 5: Guardians special edition of the Xbox One. There is another feature of this console that I couldn’t show off and that is the unique Power-On, Power-Off, and Disk Eject sounds. A few years ago, I bought the Halo 4 limited edition console. This Halo 5 version surpasses the Halo 4 version in every way, anywhere from paint quality to aesthetic design and even the sounds. All the extra stuff in the metal case were also neat. Although I have experience building plastic model kits, the aluminium model looks like it will be an interesting challenge. My Gamertag is FlawlessAdvent, and I will see you on the battlefield Spartans.
