八月の購入物 August Loot – 2015

This month’s loot post is going to seem similar to July’s. Once again, 2 packages, one mine and the other my little brother’s. It appears that he enjoyed the Cardfight Vanguard booster box last month and decided to purchase another. This time it is Set #11: Seal Dragons Unleashed. Same as before, we are splitting the loot. Meanwhile, my package was from AmiAmi.

My loot for this month besides the Vanguard booster box is:

  • ロボット魂ヴィルキス Robot Damashii Villkiss

At last, the Robot Damashii Villkiss. I really like the mechanical design for the Para-mails, so I have long waited for this to arrive. And the action figure is indeed really neat. However, I can’t help but feel disappointed in two aspects. First, the image on the front of the box is really cool with the glowing red visor. I don’t actually expect it to glow on the figure, but a plain red painted visor is seriously lacking in impressiveness. I really wish that the visor was a separate clear part, or at least had better paint. Second, this figure comes with a bunch of interchangeable parts. You can make the wings open up, equip the Freezing Bullet, and even transform it into its flight mode. But they don’t give you the shoulder parts for Villkiss’s most powerful attack? That is the only feature missing of Villkiss from this figure. Even for a Robot Damashii, this was an especially pricey one, so I wish that they could just have given it to us. Those are my two biggest personal disappointments. A number of parts also falls off easily, but that’s not hard to fix.

Those two issues aside, this figure is pretty neat. Currently, if you want a Villkiss, there is no other options but this Robot Damashii. I would like Bandai to make plastic models for the Para-mails. That way, we could get the supporting characters’ units as well, as they are simply variations. Sadly, that doesn’t seem like it will happen.

Since I got the 1st edition, I also got a tiny figure of Ange that you can put onto the pilot seat in flight mode. I played around with all the parts when I unboxed Villkiss, and transforming it into flight mode is a pain because the wings are very difficult to put on and off. With all that said, I have Enryuu-gou pre-ordered (but not any of the P-Bandai exclusive ones sadly), and I really can’t wait to see how that one turns out!

Moving onto the Cardfight!! Vanguard Set#11 Sealed Dragons Unleashed booster box. Personally, my favorite clan is Link Joker, which debuted in Set#12, so this set will not have any Link Jokers in it. We did get a neat little surprise however, and that is the included deck case.

This case came flat inside and it was really easy to fold together. The quality is not bad either. Our previous booster box, Set #15 Infinite Rebirth, did not came with one, so this took us by surprise. Pretty neat.

Once again, we got every single Rare in the set with just one booster box. On the left are 5 Double Rares (RR) and on the right are 3 Triple Rares (RRR), which happens to be the exact same ratio we got in our Set #15. For reference, the set had 12 possible RRs and 8 possible RRRs (same as Set #15 as well).

The grid above is every pack opening, two at a time with the rares in the center of the photo.

Unlike last set though, I actually pulled an あたり! Funny enough, that ticket has expired. We will still keep it though, since they are seriously more rare than RRRs. On the right is AmiAmi’s included illustration for this month.
