June was a hectic month with so much that has happened. The month had three phrases: first was setting up plans in my apartment, second was returning to my parent’s home and preparing for my travel abroad, and third was my time spent in Okazaki, Japan.
Above is the photo of my desk for the 1st part of this month. Readers with a keen memory will notice that the walls are different. Indeed, there is a window to the immediate right and the walls are bare with no posters. That is because I have moved rooms within the apartment.
The first to be disassembled and moved out was my bed.
And then my glass table along with lots of boxes.
My desk was quite troublesome to move. Only the legs were taken apart and then we carried the desk with all the stuff on it.
Slowly, the room became occupied by things not my own.
After a little longer, the move was complete. While I still live in this same apartment, everything mine was moved out into the living room and everything my friend’s was moved into this room. You can see my updated place in the living room here – .[Room During Apartment #2 – 2014]
Early in the month was also my birthday. I spent it quite decently, but somehow I still felt a little sad on the inside. I didn’t receive any physical present, which is always a little disappointing but I did have a sushi dinner together with 2 of my roommates. My dinner was supposed to be free, but apparently we lacked one more person to do so. A roommate paid for me instead, as the gift.
Before returning to my parent’s home, I had to prepare everything that I need to bring to Japan and also what to leave at my parent’s home for when I come back. At my parent’s home, it was like the calm before the storm and I got to hang out with my little brother. Finally, I left for Japan on the night of June 19th and I arrived on the 21st.
Within the last week of June when I arrived, so many events took place that the week itself felt like an entire month. The first weekend was just settling in. Above is my bed in a room with 4 other people. I have no desk here, nor internet connection in the room, which makes things difficult.
In summary, Monday was the 1st day of class and we had a curry party with nearby college students. On Tuesday, we had field trips to various places in Okazaki. On Wednesday, we receive our own individual yukata. On Friday, we had field trips to a Toyota automobile factory and to the Oosu area in Nagoya. On Sunday, I went otaku shopping at Nagoya with some new friends.
