1st Broken Nendoroid Joint

Finally after about 1 year & 2 months, I have received my 1st broken Nendoroid joint. The victim was, not too surprising, my 1st Nendoroid, Kureha.

The joint that broke was her neck joint. I was posing her normally until I noticed that her head was very loose, I checked it and the peg was broken, held only by the edge.

I was surprised at first but I did not despair, since I knew that I could fix it. This is exactly where modeling skills come in handy. (。・`ω´・。)

I took the broken peg & the joint out, then I replaced the joint with 1 of the ones from her other face parts. And here we have Kureha “fixed” & beautifully standing again. ^^

If you own a Nendoroid, have you had a broken joint yet? How long have you had the Nendoroid until it broke, and what did you do about it?
Update: I had my 2nd broken Nendo joint about 3 months after this post.

    That, good sir, is something I will greatly try to avoid…

      Sell? …I think I’d prefer free. ^ ^;
      They should include 1 or 2 extra joints, just in case something like this happens.

    i feel sorry seeing that, bro.

    I also have one nendo that had a crack at the joint, but i was lucky, because the nendoroid itself always have some spare joints from the other faceplates :)

    it sucks me badly if the broken joint were figma’s, since they never gave any spare joint anyway >_<

      Yeah, I am glad that each face part has its own joint. Like you said, if this happens to a Figma then it will be a huge pain. ^ ^;

    Hmm, i have broken over a dozen of gunpla, on these… not yet…

    gunpla broken parts are not rare at all, well have no figma/nendoroid so I don’t know.

    wait… if it’s something to be sold, I have Nendoroid Reina though.

      Isn’t that a problem? I don’t think anything should be common to break. As I poses my things often, broken joints really gets on my nerves.

      Why did you have it in the 1st place? I am trying to sell Nendoroid Kagamiku too. ^ ^;

    Not a Nendoroid joint that has been broken, but a figma. Kagamiku’s right twintail joint just kinda snapped off and part of it is still stuck in there. :/ I’ve put off fixing her for quite a while (probably a month already) but I’m hoping to fix her by the end of the year. Glad to see Kureha is looking fine and dandy again! :D

      Aw, that’s very unfortunate. :(
      I have heard of other people’s twintails of their Figma breaking also. Must handle twintails with care.

      Hope that you can fix it! Kureha wishes you best of luck. ^ ^

    My Nendoroid Sebastian came out of the box with a broken neck joint. But since I already owned so many Nendoroid heads, that meant I also had a surplus of Nendoroid joints.

    Still, I was quite miffed when I first encountered it.

    omg yes!!! that happend with my Hiiragi nendo!! boy, i was angry when my lil brother broke it!!! >.<~~~~

      Not sure how old your little brother is or how your family is like but I hate kids, so I would never let them near.

      Hope that you were able to fix it!

    I can still remember the sound of the neck joint breaking*shivers*
    my nendoroid yui encountered that SAME problem on her crying face(and when I saw it, I cryed to)

    maybe bulldog can fix it

    I just received my first ever nendoroid and the neck joint broke straight away! :( I was wondering, how did you remove the broken parts from the neck and body? I’m finding them very hard to remove, as I can’t properly get a grip on them.

    • FlawlessExa February 6, 2011 at 11:34 pm

      I am very sorry to hear that!
      It’s hard to describe what I did by using words though.

      It was easy for me since I am used to it from building model kits. I would use a strong needle (one that doesn’t break), wedge it in between and try to “dig” it out.

      If all else fails, your last resort could be to heat up a needle, stab it in the middle of the peg, wait for it to cool, then pull it out.

        Thank you! I’ll give it a go. I’ve also emailed the store I bought it from and maybe they can help me with a replacement joint :)

    • FlawlessExa February 7, 2011 at 9:50 pm

      It’s very unlikely that they can provide you with a replacement joint. If you managed to take the broken peg out then using the other joints from the other face parts is my recommendation.

    Awwww I need to do that to my Luka neck joint!
